This year we will change our location in Brückl to be more energy efficient in the future. With an output of one megawatt we are going to produce renewable solar energy with the help of Kärnten Solar. 1.002.250 kilowatt hours of solar energy are going to be produced for our own consumption. That number corresponds to the energy demand of about 333 households, 2,5 million cycles of a washing machine or 150 circumnavigations of the earth with an electric car.
The biggest photovoltaic plant in Carinthia
Besides the already existing roof surfaces the surrounding open spaces will be used for the installation of photovoltaic plants. The performance of the roof surfaces is about 480 kWp while the preformance of the surrounding area (6880 square kilometers) is going to be 467 kWp.
"With the production of renewable energy a big part of our energy demand in Brückl can be covered and at the same time CO2 emissions will be reduced by 750.000 kilograms per year", says managing director Hubert Schemitsch.
"We are proud to support pewag on their way to becoming more energy efficient. The commissioning of the new photovoltaic plant is scheduled for the second quarter of 2020", Christian Garz, technical manager of Kärnten Solar, is pleased to announce.
